MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A 38-year-old man stands accused on Wednesday of trying to kill his sister’s boyfriend late last month outside of a bar in Miami Beach, records show.
Surveillance video shows Christopher Brandi during a shooting targeting Johnny Serrano in the North Beach neighborhood, according to an arrest warrant.
Serrano “battered Brandi and brandished a firearm” on May 26 at The Sand Bar and Kitchen at 6752 Collins Ave., and the shooting was about three hours later on May 27 outside of the bar on Collins Avenue, according to the warrant.
Surveillance video shows Brandi “removed a firearm” from a black cross-body bag and fired at Serrano, who was driving away in a silver 2026 Chevrolet Equinox, according to the warrant.
The evidence also included nine spent bullet casings, “damage to nearby trees and concrete pillars,” and damage to the car “along the driver’s side, rear passenger door,” according to the warrant.
On Tuesday, Brandi was arrested at the Broward County Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale, and Miami-Dade corrections booked him at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, records show.
Brandi faced charges of attempted murder with a deadly weapon and shooting a deadly missile. Corrections held him without bond.
