NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country music singer and Grammy award winner Darius Rucker was arrested on drug possession charges on Thursday.
Rucker was taken into custody just south of Nashville.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s office, the 57-year-old was charged with simple possession-casual exchange and violation of registration law.
Authorities did not reveal what substance he had in his possession.
In a statement, Rucker’s attorney said ‘Darius Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities related to misdemeanor charges.”
The former singer of “Hootie and the Blowfish” was released on bond.
