WASHINGTON – U.S. Capitol Police reported arresting an armed Oregon man who was in a red car with a tri-cycle strapped to the roof on Wednesday near a barricade.
The 23-year-old man’s list of weapons inside the parked Subaru on Pennsylvania Avenue included a rifle, a pistol, knives, a bow and arrow, and axes, police said.
This morning our officers spotted something unusual, which led them to make an arrest and recover guns, knives, a bow & arrow, and more from a suspicious vehicle.

The incident comes a few days after the anniversary of a 20-year-old man’s failed attempt to assassinate President Donald Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania.

Recent incidents of political violence also include the murders of Democratic former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, in Minnesota.
