PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — Bianca Green said she wants justice after surveillance video showed a U.S. Postal Service mailman pepper-spraying her three dogs.
The video shows the three Shitzu-Poodles, a mother named “Ginger” and her two puppies “DJ” and “Junior,” were in the front yard barking from behind a fence when the mailman sprayed on Jan. 2.
“Before he even gets to the mailbox, before he even fully gets to our house, he sprays them, coming from my neighbors’ house,” Green said. “He sprays them with pepper spray, the 2 puppies run, they’re running, they’re digging their face in the dirt.”
Green said the mailman’s actions were “malicious” and unnecessary.
“Ginger comes right here, and he takes out the pepper spray again and sprays her again and then walks off,” Green said.
The three dogs were left whining and rubbing their faces on the ground, so hearing them in pain, Green walked out and saw the mailman.
“I’m like, ‘What happened?’ And he goes ‘I had to pepper spray your dogs,’” Green said. “And I’m like, ‘Why?’ He was like, ‘Oh! They tried to bite me!’”
Green said that didn’t make any sense.
“They can’t jump over the gate, they can’t go under the gate, they can’t do anything other than bark,” Green said.
Green filed a police report, a complaint with USPS, and a criminal offense report with the State Attorney’s Office. Green said no one has responded to her complaints.
USPS responded to Local 10 News with a statement: “Local management has been made aware of the situation, and it will be addressed appropriately as soon as possible.”
