Buttermilk Waffles

Buttermilk Waffles

2 cups all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon kosher salt

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

3 large eggs

2 cups good quality buttermilk

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled

In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients.

In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients.

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Pour in the wet ingredients. Gently whisk together the ingredients. Do not overmix but don’t leave lumps either.

Heat a waffle iron. Brush with a little oil or use cooking spray. Pour the batter into the waffle iron and spread it out a little to try and prevent overflow. Cook until golden.

Serve with your favorite toppings. (We served our waffles with chocolate ganache, whipped cream and dried raspberries.
