Colin Cowherd takes shot at Miami Dolphins fans — here’s how Tyreek Hill responded

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Although the Miami Dolphins picked up a big Christmas Eve win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16, Fox Sports analyst Colin Cowherd isn’t doing any backflips to congratulate them.

Cowherd spoke about the Dolphins Wednesday on his show, “The Herd,” and while he acknowledged that Miami’s win over Dallas was a solid one, he wasn’t willing to go much further.

“It’s not my job to give you respect. It’s my job to be honest,” Cowherd said Wednesday. “You have a singular playoff win in 23 years.”

But what Cowherd did not acknowledge on his show is how he previously predicted Dallas to “blow out” the Dolphins.

Instead, Cowherd said Miami “is constantly seeking validation” and “respect” but he does not consider them to be a “real contender.”

When Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill caught wind of Cowherd’s comments on X Wednesday, he didn’t hold back.

The Dolphins’ win over the Cowboys was significant in the eyes of many because it marked Miami’s first victory of the season over a team with a winning record after previous losses to the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills.

Miami is now 11-4 following the win and has a 2-game lead in the AFC East over the Buffalo Bills, who are 9-6. The Dolphins have already clinched a playoff bid and are now fighting for seeding with two games to go in the regular season.

Cowherd’s reference to Miami’s lack of recent playoff success is harsh but accurate. Miami hasn’t won a playoff game since 2000, and they were only able to get out of the first round before being eliminated.

The win over the Cowboys was a good momentum builder, but the Dolphins will be tested again in Weeks 17 and 18 with matchups against the Baltimore Ravens and Bills.

If the Dolphins want Cowherd to switch up his perspective, they simply need to win the rest of their remaining games. A strong end to the regular season wouldn’t hurt, but playoff success is the ultimate goal for the squad, and time will tell if that’s in the cards.

Cowherd — an often-outspoken sports analyst — may choose to respond to Hill’s comments, but whether or not that happens, the Dolphins can simply use his comments as motivation going forward.
