MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins are signing veteran defensive back Mike Hilton, according to multiple reports.
Hilton, who stands at 5-foot-9 and spent the majority of his career at slot corner, started 10 games at safety for the Bengals last season and allowed a 92 passer rating in coverage.
Miami had been monitoring Hilton, 31, throughout the offseason. He has recorded over 400 snaps at slot corner in his NFL career.
His addition comes as the team deals with multiple injuries in the secondary, including a right leg injury to starting slot corner Kader Kohou, who walked off the field gingerly during Saturday’s training camp session.
The Dolphins also recently lost cornerback Artie Burns to a season-ending ACL injury.
Hilton, a veteran with 13 career interceptions, joins a secondary that also added former Patriots and Raiders cornerback Jack Jones earlier in the day.
