Dolphins cornerback Kader Kohou out for season with knee injury

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Miami Dolphins cornerback Kader Kohou will miss the entire 2025 season after suffering a knee injury, head coach Mike McDaniel confirmed Wednesday.

Kohou is being placed on injured reserve.

Cornerback has been one of the Dolphins’ thinnest position groups, and Kohou was arguably their top player at the spot. His loss leaves a significant hole in the secondary.

“I was crushed until I spoke with Kader,” McDaniel said. “Honestly, his mindset made me feel a little better.”

The injury occurred on July 26 during the team’s first open practice of training camp.

Kohou appeared to hurt his right leg while covering Tyreek Hill on an out route. He limped along the sideline before walking off under his own power.

In a further blow to the defense, safety Ashtyn Davis also suffered a lower leg injury at Tuesday’s practice.

He was later seen using crutches and wearing a walking boot. The team has not yet announced how long he might be out.

To help fill the void in the secondary, the Dolphins signed veteran slot corner Mike Hilton and former Patriots and Raiders cornerback Jack Jones.

Hilton is expected to step into a larger role following Kohou’s season-ending injury.
