MIAMI — While there was plenty of smoke, there was no fire.

Despite weeks of rumors about a potential trade, the Marlins are keeping their ace Sandy Alcantara.

He’s been with the Marlins since 2018.

During those 8 seasons, he’s become the face of the franchise.

Alcantara won the 2022 Cy Young Award in the National League.

He missed all of last year after having Tommy John surgery.

Alcantara has struggled this season, but was great in his last two starts.
