Kyle Stowers named NL Player of the Month

MIAMI — The Miami Marlins are red-hot and gaining plenty of attention.

On Monday, outfielder Kyle Stowers was named National League Player of the Month for July.

The 27-year-old batted .364 with 10 homers, 20 RBI, and had an OPS of 1.269.

The Marlins record improved to 55-55 by sweeping the New York Yankees over the weekend.

The series was at home and the Marlins drew 101,545 fans for the 3-game set.

The Marlins are becoming one of the best stories in baseball.

On June 9, the Fish were 24-40, 16 games under .500.

The Marlins open up a home series against the Astros on Monday night.
