MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins, who open the 2025 season on Sunday, announced their team captains Monday morning.
The six team captains are quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, entering his sixth season with the Dolphins; fullback Alec Ingold; defensive tackle Zach Sieler; center Aaron Brewer; and linebackers Jordyn Brooks and Bradley Chubb.
Tagovailoa, Ingold and Sieler were voted captains last season, while Brooks, Brewer and Chubb are first-time captains.
“I’m really excited about the whole voting process in general this year,” Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters Monday. “This team was much more unified, and the focus on those six guys was very clear – those were resounding vote-getters."
The Dolphins had eight team captains last season, including wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who was not voted a captain this year for the first time since joining the team in 2022.
In July, Tagovailoa told reporters his relationship with Hill remained a work in progress – after Hill had publicly stated following Miami’s season-ending loss to the New York Jets last year that he wanted out of the organization.
Miami’s Week 1 game against the Indianapolis Colts will kick off at 1 p.m. Sunday.
