MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins placed starting right tackle Austin Jackson on injured reserve Saturday with a toe injury, sidelining him for at least four games and leaving quarterback Tua Tagovailoa without his starting blindside protection.

Jackson, 25, previously missed much of the 2024 season after undergoing knee surgery, though he was expected to be fully ready for training camp.

Earlier this month, he had already missed practice time with the toe issue but had not been put on IR until now.

The setback compounds Miami’s problems up front.

Starting ight guard James Daniels was also placed on injured reserve with a pectoral injury, leaving the entire right side of the Dolphins’ starting offensive line unavailable for at least the next month.

To fill the roster spot, the Dolphins signed cornerback Cornell Armstrong to the active roster off the practice squad.

Kicker Riley Patterson and running back Jeff Wilson Jr. were also elevated from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s game.

In Jackson and Daniels’ absence, Miami is expected to rely on Kion Smith and Larry Borom to hold down the line against the pass rush.

The Dolphins host the New England Patriots at Hard Rock Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
