MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill was carted off the field Monday night after appearing to injure his left knee during a sideline tackle with 13 minutes left in the third quarter against the New York Jets.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team feared that Hill dislocated his left knee on the play.
Hill, 31, had just made a first down catch when he went down, clutching his leg as teammates and trainers surrounded him. The Dolphins led 10-3 at the time of the injury.
A few plays later, tight end Darren Waller hauled in his second touchdown of the night to push Miami’s lead to 17-3, giving the Dolphins breathing room in a game dominated by their defense.
Miami forced three turnovers after going without one in the first three games of the season.
Dante Trader Jr. recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff, and Tyrel Dodson later stripped the ball from quarterback Justin Fields, with Jaelan Phillips falling on it to set up an early 10-0 advantage.
The Jets opened the second half with possession before Hill’s injury shifted attention back to the sideline. Miami capitalized shortly afterward, adding to its cushion with Waller’s score to increase their lead to 17-3.
Hill was seen smiling on camera and waived to the crowd as he was being carted off the field.
The Dolphins posted an update on Hill in a post on X.
Tyreek Hill has been ruled out with a knee injury. He is being taken to a local hospital for imaging, evaluation and observation.
