U.S. Olympic beach volleyball player Kerri Walsh Jennings hosts Hero Volley event in Miami-Dade

Olympian brings Hero Volley to Miami Beach

WATSON ISLAND, Fla. — Kerri Walsh Jennings, a three-time Olympic gold medalist and a one-time Olympic bronze medalist, recently shared her passion in Miami-Dade County.

Walsh Jennings, 47, a Stanford University graduate, played in Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012, and Rio de Janeiro 2016.

“Volleyball changed my life,” Walsh Jennings said.

She is part of a new team: The Hero Volley. She held a wellness pop-up at Joia Beach on Watson Island

“I am so fortunate to be part of a team that is bringing this new beach volleyball product to the world,” Walsh Jennings said.

Playing competitively, she said, helped her to be the best version of herself, and she wants others to feel that way too.

“I know that sounds so cheesy, but it’s like we all have that one thing that challenges us, that we love, that we suffer for, that helps you become more of who you are, that exposes your strengths and your weaknesses.”

The event included a “beach waver” hair bar, a workout, and other treats from local entrepreneurs.

“I started every day with a decision. And what I know about excellence, what I know about champions is that those who show up every day because that decision is made, those are the ones who finish on top.”

Walsh Jennings shared a message for dreamers: “Go for it. Don’t hedge your bets. Don’t have a plan B. Be right where your feet are with all your heart, and it always works out.”
