INDIANAPOLIS — Former Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard, who spent his entire eight-year career with the team, signed a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts on Monday, according to his agent David Canter.
The deal is worth up to $5 million, a league source confirmed.
Howard, 32, has been out of the NFL since the Dolphins released him in March of 2024.
A four-time Pro Bowler, Howard led the league in interceptions in both 2018 and 2020 – earning first-team All-Pro honors in 2020.
Howard suffered a Lisfranc injury to his foot late in the regular season during his final year with Miami – an injury from which he never fully recovered.
Despite working out for the Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals last season, Howard didn’t sign with either organization.
Ironically, Howard’s first meaningful game as a Colt will come against the Dolphins on Sept. 7, kicking off the 2025 season for both teams.
