Officers with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department said they were called to a home near the 200 block of South Federal Highway around 12:10 a.m. on a report of a battery involving family members.

According to an arrest report, Crow, 37, got into a verbal argument with the victim about past relationships that escalated into a physical altercation.

The report states Crow intentionally shoved the victim and attempted to physically restrain her.

Witnesses told police that they saw Crow with his arms around the victim as if attempting a takedown, lifting her legs off the ground, and whispering to her, the report stated.

Another witness said Crow slapped and grappled with the victim before noticing bystanders and stepping away, according to investigators. The victim reported no injuries and declined to give a statement to police.

Authorities have not disclosed the relationship between Crow and the victim.

Jail records show he was arrested on one count of misdemeanor domestic battery. He remained in the Broward Main Jail Friday morning with no bond set.

The Dolphins released a statement later Friday addressing the arrest.

“We are aware of the serious matter involving Ryan Crow and currently gathering more information,” the statement read. “Ryan has been placed on administrative leave effective immediately. We have been in communication with the NFL and will reserve further comment at this time.”

As of Friday morning, he was being held at the Broward Main Jail with no bond set.
