FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Fort Lauderdale United FC hosted top-seeded Dallas Trinity FC on Saturday evening, and from start to finish, it was a one-sided affair in favor of the home side.
Kelli Van Treeck opened the scoring for Fort Lauderdale in the 16th minute. The second goal came in the 40th minute, credited as an own goal by Dallas defender Hannah Davison.
United went into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
Just 14 minutes into the second half, Van Treeck struck again, netting her second goal of the match to make it 3-0. Dallas pulled one back shortly after, scoring its first of the night.
However, Kiara Locklear sealed the result in the 81st minute with Fort Lauderdale’s fourth goal, securing a 4-1 victory.
With the win, United now sits in second place, unbeaten with two wins and two draws to start the season.
