MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — On Thursday, the NFL announced that Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for his performance in November.
Cleveland Browns’ Myles Garrett won the AFC Defensive Player of the Month, while New York Jets’ Austin McNamara took home AFC Special Teams Player of the Month.
This is Achane’s first career AFC Offensive Player of the Month award and the team’s first Player of the Month honor since kicker Jason Sanders was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month last December.
The recognition also marks Miami’s first AFC Offensive Player of the Month award since October 2023, when wide receiver Tyreek Hill earned the honor, according to the team.
Entering Week 14, Achane has recorded 1,034 rushing yards – marking the first 1,000-yard season of his career – on 186 carries, tallying six touchdowns.
The Dolphins have done a phenomenal job of utilizing Achane in the pass game, too, where he has produced 54 receptions for 370 yards and four touchdowns.
With the Dolphins currently on a season-high three-game winning streak, Achane had a month to remember.
Achane led the league with 495 rushing yards on 79 touches, averaging 6.3 yards per run and scoring three touchdowns – while adding 17 receptions for 135 yards for a total of 630 yards from scrimmage from Weeks 9 to 13.
History was made for Achane in the Dolphins’ 21-17 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 13, as he joined Larry Csonka (1972), Delvin Williams (1978) and Ricky Williams (2002 and 2003) as the only Dolphins in franchise history to record 1,000 rushing yards in the first 12 games of a season.
The Dolphins (5-7) begin a two-game road trip Sunday against the Jets (3-9), with kickoff set for 1 p.m. ET.
