WESTON, Fla. — Miami Hurricanes fans were all smiles at the Weston Carolina Ale House after their team defeated Texas A&M 10-3 on Saturday, marking the program’s first-ever win in the College Football Playoff and advancing to the Cotton Bowl to face Ohio State.
The Orange and Green were on full display inside the packed ale house.
Tyler Marcolino, a lifelong fan, said, “I’ve been watching them since I was a kid, so making the playoffs. I would say this is the biggest game I have ever watched for them.”
Kevin Graf, another devoted supporter, added, “I bleed orange and green. I’ve been a fan forever.”
Many fans, including some who drove down all the way from Orlando, were eager to be part of the celebration.
“It’s amazing to see the love for this school and the love for this team. You feel the energy, and the energy needs to transfer to the field,” said Graf.
Fans were determined not to miss this historic moment in program history, and the win made the celebration even sweeter.
Moments after the game-sealing interception, excitement filled the room. “We’re not done yet!” could be heard as fans cheered on their team’s next challenge.
The Hurricanes are now one step closer to playing in the National Championship game in Miami — a dream that fans hope could become reality.
Mary McNab said, “Heaven. That would be great. One way or the other, we would get tickets. We would find a way to do it.”
Marcolino echoed the sentiment: “That would be the best moment. I would drive down here and I would be going to that game.”
