MIAMI — Ahead of the Miami Marlins’ second game of a three-game opening weekend series against the Colorado Rockies at loanDepot park, the club made two roster moves.
Infielder Deyvison De Los Santos, part of the trade package that sent left-handed reliever A.J. Puk to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2024, has been recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville.

The Marlins also placed first baseman Christopher Morel, who was scratched from Friday’s lineup, on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to March 25) with a left oblique strain.
Placing Morel on the 10-day injured list comes less than 24 hours after Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said he would undergo further evaluation Saturday.
McCullough said Saturday during batting practice that Morel will likely miss four to six weeks, with Connor Norby handling most of the work at first base during his absence.

De Los Santos, 22, is known for his raw power at the plate. He hit a three-run home run for the Jumbo Shrimp on Friday, accounting for one of his two hits.

De Los Santos won’t be in the starting lineup Saturday, as the Marlins will go with Jakob Marsee, Xavier Edwards, Agustín Ramírez, Liam Hicks, Otto Lopez, Owen Caissie, Griffin Conine, Connor Norby and Graham Pauley.
McCullough told reporters that De Los Santos will be in the lineup Sunday for the 1:40 p.m. ET start against Rockies left-hander José Quintana, with most of his at-bats expected to come against left-handed pitchers.
