CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The Miami Hurricanes are making sure that both their offensive and defensive coordinators stay at the U.

Pete Thamel is reporting that the team has given a multi-year extension to both offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson and defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman.

Both men worked together to help lead the Canes to the National Championship game last season.

Hetherman inherited the 70th-scoring defense in the country and turned it into the nation’s No. 5 scoring defense.

As for Dawson, he just finished his third year at Miami.

In back-to-back seasons, Dawson developed transfer quarterbacks Cam Ward and Carson Beck into future NFL picks.
