Inter Miami hosts Orlando City in first Florida derby at Nu Stadium

MIAMI — Inter Miami CF hosts Orlando City SC on Saturday in a highly anticipated Florida derby.

The Herons are still searching for their first win at Nu Stadium after drawing their first three matches there.

In the first derby of the season, Inter Miami earned a 4-2 road win in a dominant performance, with star Lionel Messi scoring a second-half brace.

Miami sits in second place in the Eastern Conference with 19 points, while Orlando City is 14th with seven points.

Entering the match, Messi has scored eight goals in five career matches against Orlando City, recording braces in four of them.

Miami has yet to win at Nu Stadium but enters the match unbeaten in 11 straight games.

With a win, Miami can tie Nashville SC for first place in the conference.

Miami’s starting XI features Messi, Luis Suárez and Germán Berterame up top; Telasco Segovia, Rodrigo De Paul and Yannick Bright in midfield; Ian Fray, Micael, Maximiliano Falcón and Noah Allen in defense; and Dayne St. Clair in goal.

The Florida derby kicks off at 7:15 p.m.
