MIAMI — Columbus High School wasted little time taking control against South Dade on Friday, opening the scoring on a touchdown run by Cecil Smith after a handoff from Kai Moore.

The Explorers pulled away for a 45-7 victory despite rainy conditions, improving their record to 4-1.
