Hollywood and El Portal are among the South Florida cities where commissioners and mayors voted to give themselves raises, and in North Lauderdale, city commissioners there voted to triple their salaries.
This all occurred as Florida’s DOGE auditors descended on local governments, including in Broward County, looking to identify misspending, overspending, waste and abuse.
