PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — Florida sheriffs and police departments are advising that they will not be enforcing the state ban on openly carrying weapons in public, now that an appeals court this week overturned it as unconstitutional.
The ban has been on the books for almost 40 years and is still there, though with this week’s appellate opinion, can it be enforced?
Local 10 News asked Gail Levine, a veteran criminal prosecutor who has handled some of South Florida’s most complex criminal cases.
