PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — Florida’s ban on open carry is still on the books — even though an appeals court has found it unconstitutional. That ban is now considered unenforceable, according to the state attorney general.
As of this week, the first and only bill has been filed to formally address open carry in Florida law.
State Reps. Christine Hunschofsky, D-Parkland, and Jim Mooney, R-Islamorada, joined “This Week in South Florida” on Sunday to discuss the proposal and what it could mean for gun owners across the state.
They also discussed Gov. Ron DeSantis’ push to eliminate property taxes.
