Hurricane Melissa strengthened into a major Category 4 hurricane, with the possibility of intensifying to a Category 5 storm Sunday night, unleashing torrential rain and threatening to cause catastrophic flooding in the northern Caribbean, including Haiti and Jamaica, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — Days after Florida lawmakers came up with a list of ways to lower or even eliminate your property taxes, Gov. Ron DeSantis dissed them all as political games.

The house speaker clapped back that the governor has no detailed plan.

State Rep. Kevin Chambliss, a Democrat who represents south Miami-Dade and parts of Homestead and Cutlery Bay, and State Rep.
