Florida State Representatives Chip LaMarca, Marie Woodson join TWISF

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has been on a take-down tour, backhanding house lawmakers’ list of proposals to lower your property taxes after they didn’t do exactly what the governor wanted, which was to outright eliminate the taxes.

The house speaker clapped back, telegraphing a simmering showdown over one of your biggest issues in the ramp up to session in January.

Two state lawmakers, State Rep. Marie Woodson, a Democrat representing Hollywood, West Park and Pembroke Park, and State Rep. Chip LaMarca, Republican representing Fort Lauderdale and Broward County’s northernmost cities, joined “This Week in South Florida” host Glenna Milberg to discuss, and their conversation can be seen at the top of this page.
