PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — Miami voters spoke on election night, rejecting candidates for mayor who had been part of all the drama and dysfunction on the commission and sending two candidates to the runoff next month who campaigned on being the adults in the room.
Out of a field of 13 candidates, former Miami-Dade Commissioner Eileen Higgins and Miami’s former City Manager Emilio Gonzalez came in one and two, receiving 36% and 19% of the votes respectively, sending them to a runoff election next month.
Gonzalez joined “This Week in South Florida” host Glenna Milberg to discuss, and their conversation can be seen at the top of this page.
Note: Higgins is scheduled to join TWISF next Sunday, Nov. 16.
