State Representatives Juan Carlos Porras, Ashley Gantt join TWISF

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — Florida lawmakers continue to discuss and debate plans to eliminate or decrease property taxes.

The committee that heard those debates passed several plans along party lines.

Some are concerned about losing some of the services and people that those taxes pay for.

State Rep. Juan Carlos Porras, a Republican who represents west Miami-Dade County and who sponsored one of the property tax proposals, and State Rep. Ashley Gantt, a Democrat who represents parts of Miami-Dade County, joined “This Week in South Florida” host Glenna Milberg to discuss, and their conversation can be seen at the top of this page.
