PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — Miami’s new mayor was officially sworn into office last week.

The election of Eileen Higgins made history in several ways in a city with a worldwide reputation far beyond its actual size.

The people who actually live in the city of Miami clearly chose to turn the page on drama and dysfunction, and now, as with all elections, governing is a whole different ballgame than campaigning.
