It all started around 10:30 p.m. near the corner of Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 2nd Street in downtown Miami. Cell phone video taken from residents in high-rise condos on the boulevard showed people scattering after hearing the sounds of gunshots. One person was detained at the scene, but their possible involvement is still unclear. While investigating that shooting, officers then responded to a second shooting about an hour later, just one block south. Crime scene detectives returned to the scene just after sunrise, placing at least a dozen evidence markers on the ground.

MIAMI – A caller threatened to have placed bombs on the Metromover in downtown Miami. After a Thursday evening investigation, officers found the threat was not credible. Officers evacuated areas at the Metromover stops for Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus at 300 NE Second Ave., and Bayside Marketplace at 401 Biscayne Blvd. According to Officer Kiara Delva, a spokeswoman for the Miami-Dade Police Department, the officers were still investigating the source of the threats. MIAMI - A suspicious package behind Bayside Marketplace was determined to be a suitcase and was deemed safe, Miami police said. Police said the service road behind Bayside Marketplace was evacuated Thursday night to allow the Police Department's Bomb Squad to conduct its investigation. A section of Bayfront Park was also evacuated to further conduct the Police Department's investigation, police said. Bayside Marketplace remained open Thursday night.
