The 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship trophy was on display at Brownsville Middle School on Thursday.

A 32-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after he pulled out a knife on another person during a dispute outside the front of a middle school in Miami-Dade County, authorities said.

He had been working as a physical education teacher at Brownsville Middle School, where the victims were students. Their accounts detailed his explicit comments, coercion and repeated sex inside a classroom at Brownsville Middle School. In all, nine girls would accuse their teacher of sexual behavior over his 15 years working as a Miami-Dade County public school teacher. Several of Nibbs’ accusers and victims, now in high school, were in the courtroom for the plea and sentencing.
