EU regulator recommends using J&J's one-shot vaccine

Pandemic leaves tribes without US recognition at higher risk
As COVID-19 disproportionately affects Native American communities, many tribal leaders say the pandemic poses particular risks to tribes without federal recognition. AdThe 574 federally recognized tribes shared $8 billion from a massive coronavirus relief package approved last March. Five more tribes in Louisiana, North Carolina and California are seeking federal recognition but haven't completed their paperwork yet. While it can open access to state funding, state recognition is mostly seen as a stepping stone to federal recognition. “With federal recognition, that’s how we’re going to change the future of our community,” he said.

A coming-of-age story inspired by the former pro wrestler's colorful but challenging childhood and youth, “Young Rock” is framed by the adult Johnson's reflections on his life as he stumps for office. Using the candidacy as a device to revisit his past was suggested by Nahnatchka Khan, executive producer of “Young Rock,” he told The Associated Press on Tuesday. But he suggests a a bipartisan approach ahead for “Young Rock."
J&J 4Q sales rise despite pandemic, but charges cut profits
Johnson & Johnson reported a strong finish to the year, overcoming the disruption of the global pandemic on some parts of its business like medical devices. Meanwhile, Johnson & Johnson also is testing a two-dose vaccine as a backup and should have results on that in 2021's second half. The pandemic, and the associated deferral of many medical procedures, reduced sales of surgery, vision care and orthopedics products. Prescription drug sales jumped 16.3%, to $12.27 billion, led by immune disorder drug Stelara and cancer drugs Darzelex, Imbruvica and Erleada. For all of 2020, Johnson & Johnson reported revenue of $82.58 billion, up just 0.6% from 2019, and net income of $14.71 billion, which was 2.7% below 2019's net income.
UK-EU trade talks back on after bloc offers olive branch
But Britain seized on conciliatory comments by EU chief negotiator Michel Barnier, saying they offered the chance of a breakthrough. Barnier has already agreed to “intensify” talks — a key U.K. demand — and to discuss the legal text of an agreement. The two sides have been trying to strike a trade deal since the U.K. left the EU on Jan. 31. The bloc also accuses Britain of seeking the kind of unfettered access to its markets usually reserved for EU members. If there is no deal, businesses on both sides of the English Channel face tariffs and other obstacles to trade starting Jan. 1.

If you bought Infants’ Tylenol, you may be owed money
NEW YORK – Some cash could be coming your way after Johnson and Johnson agreed to a $6.3 million settlement to people who bought Infants’ Tylenol. The agreement came as a settlement to a class-action lawsuit that claimed Johnson and Johnson deceptively packaged the infant medicine that, in actuality, was the same as Children’s Tylenol. The company denied any wrongdoing, WLS reports, but agreed to pay the amount to settle the lawsuit. If you purchased Infants’ Tylenol between Oct. 2014 through Jan. 6, 2020 and have a proof of purchase, you are entitled to $2.15 for every 1 or 2 fl. If you don’t have a proof of purchase, you can receive $15.05 for up to seven bottles.

Attorneys for the FHSAA argued the ban was warranted, but during the game, Johnson received support from both sides of the field. Adrian Alfonso, the parent of a Columbus High School student, said the FHSAA punishment was too severe. Tony Franyie, the parent of a Belen Jesuit Preparatory School student, agreed with Alfonso.

Following his time in the White House, he became known for his work as an ABC News correspondent, in particular for his stories on the American hostage crisis in Iran and the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. He also served in the U.S. Senate in 1964 as a vacancy appointment and was campaign manager for the Robert F. Kennedy presidential campaign. Rescue responds to report of swimmer vanishing off Hollywood Beach
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – There were reports that a swimmer vanished on Friday evening off Hollywood Beach, according to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue. Witnesses said both Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood fire rescue crews were searching off the N. Broadwalk between Johnson and Grant streets. Hollywood Police Department's spokeswoman Miranda Grossman said there was a report of "possibly a missing person," but it was unconfirmed. Refresh this link for the latest information.
