The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one man dead Tuesday morning.

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Two women were jogging in Miami Shores before sunrise Thursday morning when they were struck by a vehicle, authorities confirmed. The accident occurred around 6:40 a.m. in the area of Northeast Sixth Avenue and 107th Terrace, near the entrance to Miami Country Day School. According to Zabaleta, a 27-year-old man was driving south on Northeast Sixth Avenue in a 2015 BMW 328i when he struck the joggers as they were trying to cross the street. Zabaleta said the man, who was proceeding through a green light at the time, remained at the scene. The crash is under investigation, and officers say it’s too soon to say whether speed was a factor.

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - A Jeep plowed into a busy gas station Sunday night in North Miami Beach. The crash occurred at the Chevron gas station on the corner of Northeast 167th Street and Northeast Sixth Avenue. The Chevron gas station was full of customers at the time of the crash, but the driver of the Jeep was the only person injured, authorities said. Police haven't said what caused the driver to lose control of the Jeep. The gas station remained closed Monday morning.

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. - A 7-Eleven clerk was shot and killed Monday morning in Oakland Park, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office. The shooting occurred about 12:30 a.m. at the 7-Eleven on Oakland Park Boulevard near Northeast Sixth Avenue. Prichard said the fight spilled out into the parking lot, where the clerk was shot once. Prichard declined to say what led to the dispute, but a man whose friend works at the 7-Eleven told Local 10 News it all started because of a cigar. "The safety and well-being of 7-Eleven franchisees and customers is of utmost importance," 7-Eleven said in a statement.

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Monkeys have been spotted in recent days in neighborhoods from Cooper City to North Miami Beach, authorities said Tuesday. Mikey was recently forced out by another male and has been looking for a new place to live, according to the Dania Beach Vervet Project. The vervet monkey, also known simply as vervet, is native to Africa. FWC officials said people have been feeding a group of the wild monkeys that live in the Dania Beach area. Anyone with information about the whereabouts about the monkey seen near the strip club is asked to contact the North Miami Beach Police Department.
