After all the running around this holiday season, we get a chance to decompress with fantastic weather this weekend!
It was a perfect day, with highs in the low 80s and full sunshine. With low humidity, temperatures will fall quickly this evening, and we will wake up to the low 60s. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some far inland areas flirting with the 50s. The forecast is on repeat for the weekend.
The warm and pleasant weather pattern across South Florida will stick around the weekend.
High pressure building over the Gulf will keep South Florida’s weather quiet and comfortable. Winds will be light out of the north, and dry air higher in the atmosphere will limit widespread rain. That said, there is still just enough moisture near the surface along the Atlantic and East Coast to allow for a few brief, stray showers today. Rain chances are low overall but not zero — especially near the coast — which is why forecast rain chances were nudged slightly higher into the 10% to 20% range.
It’s going to be a warm Christmas, with highs reaching 80 degrees for the first time in four years. Expect a stray shower or two moving in off the water. Any showers will be light and fast-moving, so they should not interrupt outdoor plans for long. That low rain chance ends Friday and continues through the weekend as a large area of high pressure moves overhead, bringing calm winds and completely dry weather for several days.
High pressure is in control across South Florida Wednesday morning, keeping conditions calm and mostly dry.

A stray shower is not completely out of the question for South Florida on Thursday night. It was another really nice day, with highs staying in the 70s. We’ll reach 80° again this weekend, but that’s not far from average. The bigger story will be the return of showers and even some thunderstorms. Saturday looks mostly dry, but showers will start moving in Saturday night. The rain will begin in the Florida Keys and work its way north. By Sunday morning, we’ll all have a chance for hit-or-miss thunderstorms.
Grab those sweaters and jackets, we are feeling the 50s and 60s again this morning.

Our Thanksgiving Day will be an interesting one, with warm, humid air giving way to scattered afternoon showers and storms. It’s difficult to pinpoint where the strongest storms will develop, but everyone has at least some chance of having to take their outdoor turkey dinners indoors, especially between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
A cold front is on the way and will arrive Thursday afternoon. Ahead of the front, humidity has increased and the atmosphere is becoming more unstable, so look for some showers and a possible thunderstorm today, with a better chance as we head into Thanksgiving tomorrow.
