MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Miami Beach launched its free water taxi service on Tuesday morning across Biscayne Bay with stops at docks in South Beach and Downtown Miami.
The dock in South Beach is at the Maurice Gibb Memorial Park near Purdy Avenue and Venetian Way.
The dock in Downtown Miami is at the Venetian Marina and Yacht Club near North Bay Shore Drive and Northeast 15 Street.
Both docks are within walking distance of route stops for a trolley, a free public transportation service both cities offer. The dock in Miami is also near the Metromover’s Adrienne Arsht Center stop.
The service in 40-foot vessels with a capacity for 55 passengers is from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. It stops hourly from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and every 30 minutes from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Water Taxi of Miami Beach LLC is the operator. The service isn’t available on weekends. For more information. visit this city page.
