According to the National Weather Service, the flood watch is in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening.

Flooding is possible due to expected excessive rainfall. Forecasters say excessive runoff may result in flooding of roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

In Fort Lauderdale, the city provides vehicle storage for residents during flood watches or warnings at the following locations:

  • Las Olas Garage - 200 Las Olas Circle (Levels 2 and up)
  • Riverwalk Center Garage - 150 SE 2nd Street (Levels 3 and 4)

City officials say the vehicles may remain parked at those locations for up to 24 hours after the advisory ends.
