A slow moving disturbance still lingers near South Florida on Saturday, the same system that’s given us scattered showers and storms the past several days. More storms and showers are likely but as the system gradually pulls away to our west tomorrow we’ll see those rain chances coming down a bit. Some drier air will begin mixing in for back to school week next week so it’ll be a more typical August forecast with hot sun but still that daily chance of scattered storms.
Things are quiet in the tropics for the most part however a strong wave emerging off the coast of Africa could be a problem in about 7-10 days as it moves west through the open Atlantic. More on that as details become available in a few days. In the meantime, be prepared to dodge more showers & storms today and watch out for some deep puddles in some neighborhoods.
