A wet and stormy weather pattern will continue through the weekend and into next week. The morning weekend hours look best for outdoor activities, with most storms and showers expected between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. each day.
Poorly drained neighborhoods could see local street flooding during some of the heavier afternoon downpours. A front separating drier air to the north from tropical moisture over South Florida is triggering periods of rain, and the system shows no signs of moving away soon.
In the tropics, a system in the central Atlantic has a medium chance of development and could head toward some Caribbean islands later next week, but the National Weather Service said it remains disorganized and might not amount to much.
