Oct. 12: Cold front takes edge off humidity

Even though the season’s first cold front moved through yesterday, we still managed to make it into the upper 80s today, but at least the humidity was a bit lower.

Eventually, fronts like these will allow for a more noticeable drop in our temperatures, but that’s more likely by November and December.

It looks like we’re in for a relatively quiet week of weather with high pressure the main factor, which acts to suppress rain chances, so I only expect a 10%-20% chance of scattered showers each day through the new week.

Highs will be in the 80s this week, with overnight lows closer to the lower 70s now, with some upper 60s in the western suburbs. We’re still in hurricane season through the end of November, but there’s currently nothing to be concerned about for South Florida through the next 7 days.

If you have the holiday off tomorrow it looks like a really good beach day so enjoy the sun, surf, and sand!
