Jan. 15: Big chill hits South Florida

As skies clear over South Florida and northwest winds blow, unseasonably cold air will settle over the region Thursday night. Temperatures are forecast to drop to the low 40s across much of Miami-Dade and Broward counties overnight. Early Friday morning, it may feel like the mid- to upper 30s. The Florida Keys will not be as cold, with lows expected in the upper 40s to the low and mid-50s.

Friday will feature sunshine, few clouds and subdued north to northeast winds, sustained at 5 to 10 mph, through the day. Temperatures are forecast to climb to the mid-60s, about 10 degrees below average for this time of year.
