Cloudy skies and scattered showers are expected today as a weak disturbance moves across South Florida, with the best chance for rain across the Florida Keys and East Coast metros. Rain won’t be widespread, but expect a mostly gray day with on-and-off showers. Conditions take a sharp turn on Saturday as a strong cold front approaches and then moves through late in the day. Winds will ramp up to 15–25 mph with gusts near 40 mph possible.

Behind the front, the coldest air of the season — and possibly the coldest since December 2010 — arrives early Sunday. Temperatures will drop rapidly, with near-freezing or freezing lows possible early Sunday and again Monday morning, even reaching inland parts of Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Wind chills could fall into the 20s across all of South Florida, including the Keys, due to strong northwest winds. Daytime temperatures Sunday and Monday may struggle to get out of the 50s, making it feel unusually cold all day.
