Feb. 1: Historic cold sweeps into South Florida

Historic cold has moved in with the coldest since air since 1989. A few far inland areas reached the freezing mark (32°). We will have full sunshine today with highs reaching the low 50s.

The exception will be in the lower Keys with some clouds and occasional sprinkles off the Gulf.

We have another cold night ahead with temperatures dropping to the middle 30s by Monday morning. Factor in the wind and it will feel like the 20s again.

This wind chill is reaching the threshold for another Cold Weather Advisory. We will have a slow gradual warm up, but the warmest temperatures will still be cooler than average in the low 70s on Thursday. This is ahead of another cold front that will drop temperatures for next Friday and weekend.
