Feb. 28: Rain finally hits South Florida, brings relief to drought-stricken areas

Finally! Rain moved over our extreme drought-stricken region today. While the bulk of the soaking storms rolled through Palm Beach County, Fort Lauderdale received a dose of 0.30 inches of rain so far. Showers are tapering off, and quiet conditions will persist through the night, with lows falling into the upper 60s.

The front is expected to stall on Sunday, bringing another round of showers by the afternoon. Highs will reach the lower 80s. High pressure will soon strengthen over the Atlantic, and winds from the ocean will bring daily showers throughout the week.
