March 16: Turning wet and stormy Monday night

The weather across South Florida takes a stormy turn Monday night as a cold front approaches the region.

While a spotty shower or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out during the early evening, Miami-Dade and Broward counties and the Keys should prepare for the bulk of the rain and storms late-night, between 10pm and 2am. There is a “low-end” risk for a storm or two that produces damaging wind gusts or hail.

After the cold front passes Tuesday morning, north winds take hold. Though cooler, drier air starts to arrive, clouds will linger Tuesday and sporadic showers still will be possible. Temperatures are expected to turn cooler with lows in the 60s and highs in the low 70s. Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning, temperatures may drop to the upper 50s.
