Mar. 27: Weekend starts nice, but expected to turn stormy and windy

The weekend starts on a nice note for South Florida with mostly dry conditions and light, east winds Friday night. Temperatures will remain mild with overnight lows expected around 70°F across Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

Much of Saturday will be dry for metro Miami-Dade and Broward. The morning and afternoon will feature sunshine with scattered clouds, plus northeast winds, sustained 5 to 10 mph. Temperatures are forecast to reach the mid 80s. The weather is expected to turn unsettled Saturday night as a cold front approaches, bringing the possibility of showers and storms and a stronger, onshore breeze.

Sunday will be windy and dreary with showers and storms still possible. Marine and beach conditions will not be ideal as east-northeast winds, sustained 15 to 20 mph, gusting to 30 mph, rule the day. Waters will be rough and the rip current risk will be high. Temperatures are expected to peak in the upper 70s.
