‘I see stuff starting to fly around’: Palm Springs North residents deal with severe weather

Severe weather struck Palm Springs North in Miami-Dade

PALM SPRINGS NORTH, Fla. — Severe weather impacted the Palm Springs North community on Tuesday in northwestern Miami-Dade County.

Residents along Northwest 181st Street and a lake saw waterspouts, furniture blown around, heavy rain, and downed tree limbs.

SEVERE WEATHER IN MIAMI-DADE: This boat was part of the property damage that Palm Springs North residents experienced due to severe weather on Tuesday in Miami-Dade County.

“I see stuff starting to fly around, and then it got bad, and I ran into the bathroom,” a resident said, adding that the commotion lasted less than 5 minutes.

The wind flipped a boat and damaged roofs. There were downed trees and some power disruptions.

Crews with the Florida Power & Light Company were out working in the neighborhood on Friday night.
