April 11: Strong winds, high rip current risk follow rainy stretch across South Florida

The weather story has taken a drastic turn across South Florida. Soaking showers this week gave way to strong winds and a drier weather pattern this Saturday.

Strong winds out of the northeast will continue to persist with gusts up to 25 to 30 mph on Sunday. The gusts will continue to turn up our local beaches. A very high rip current risk will remain in place. It is important to stay out of the water, if you do venture in, swim in front of a lifeguard.

Sunday will feature a few stay showers in the morning with mostly dry conditions by the afternoon. Look for high temperatures in the lower 80s.
