PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — South Florida is in for a soaking on Thursday evening and Friday as Caribbean moisture moves north and a disturbance along the Gulf Coast moves east.
The disturbance crosses from west to east, so Broward and Miami-Dade counties should expect an increased risk of rainfall.
Totals could exceed 2 to 4 inches, which could lead to some street flooding, especially in those areas with poor drainage.

The rain coverage backs off a bit later Friday, and over the weekend, but with more sun and daytime heat, there’ll be some scattered afternoon and evening storms around, some of which could become severe.
The rainiest month of the year is typically June, with over 10 inches on average for the month, so this forecast certainly looks to be right on schedule.
